CAPITAL CITY RACING GRAVEL & CYCLOCROSS RACES

Capital City Racing has been producing weekend cyclocross events since the first Bicycle Sport Shop ‘Six Shooter’ in 2012.  Since then we are happy to have added two additional weekends of racing, first with the Mellow Johnny’s ‘Cross of Ages’ and then the ‘Webberville CX Weekend’.  Capital City Racing is known for offering high production values in race courses as well as the spectator’s fun with music/announcing and a beer garden, all while highlighting our amazing sponsors.  We are always looking for the next fun thing to do with cyclocross, and in 2017 with our friend Joel Rierson, introduced the single speed conversion costume race, called the “Lucha Libre”.

In 2017, Capital City Racing expanded into gravel racing with two inaugural events: the "Come And Grind It" in Gonzales County, a rider-favorite loop through scenic countryside starting in Leesville, and the "Sutherland Springs Benefit Gravel Ride," which raised over $7,500 for families affected by the tragic shooting at First Baptist Church. In 2018, they added a third gravel event, the "Whizzerville Hauler" out of McMahan, featuring rolling hills, a scenic sandy stretch, and just 19% pavement across 34- or 63-mile routes. Each race delivers a diverse mix of gravel roads—think tree-canopied paths, gentle rolls, and quiet rural vibes—capped with lively after-parties boasting music, gourmet food, drinks, and games at venues like the historic Whizzerville Hall.

BIKES OR DEATH PODCAST & BIKEPACKING RACES

The TSS was created to give adventure cyclist opportunities to explore three very different regions of Texas.  From the Pine Curtains of East Texas, to the Hills of Central Texas, and to the remote and rugged desert of West Texas.

Bikes or Death is a podcast centered around the growing sport of bikepacking, adventure cycling, and the outdoors. The show features the amazing people who participate in these activities and contribute so greatly to the cycling community. The Bikes or Death Podcast is dedicated to sharing the stories and experiences of these individuals with the hopes that it inspires others to get outside, get on their bikes, and experience what our natural world has waiting for them.

At its heart Bikes or Death is more than just a podcast. Bikes or Death is a lifestyle.
